What it will watch for

Bumps Coming soon: A knock or a hit, felt by the phone's motion sensor. Wind and rain are filtered out, and you pick the sensitivity.
Sounds Coming soon: Breaking glass, a car alarm or a horn that won't stop, screaming: recognised on the phone, which keeps and sends no audio of it.
Moved Coming soon: The phone turned or picked up from where you left it.
Power Coming soon: Charging cut after a bump, or the battery running low. It pauses at 20% so the phone can still record your next drive.
Heat Coming soon: The phone getting too hot in a parked car.
Camera Coming soon: The camera stopping while it was recording in the parked car.

Parked Guard will be off until you turn it on, and sound events have a switch of their own. Recognising a sound happens on the phone, in memory: the detector keeps no audio of its own and sends none. Recording laws vary; check yours.

How it will work

Park and walk away. After two minutes still, Parked Guard arms itself, and it stops the moment the car moves.

Something happens: a bump, an impact, a credible sound. The phone saves it as an event and protects the clip from 30 seconds before to 30 seconds after.

The phone seals the event, encrypted on the phone, and sends it through Dashivo Cloud. We can't read it.

Your main phone opens it and decides whether to buzz: “Rear window · Bump detected”.

On iPhone, a phone off screen will still notice bumps and sounds but can't film them: Apple stops the camera when an app leaves the screen. To film while parked, leave Dashivo on screen with power, and mind the heat.

Your main phone decides whether an event buzzes. Every event goes through the same checks, in this order, and small ones like a passing siren are only kept in the list.

While you drive, the only alerts are reports from other Dashivo drivers within a mile ahead and under 30 minutes old. On iPhone, an alert the rules hold back may still arrive silently in Notification Center, with no sound or banner.

Parked Guard is built so an alert can travel through Dashivo Cloud without us being able to read it.

End-to-end encrypted: Each event is sealed on the phone that saw it and opened only by your other phones. The cloud stores and forwards it, but can't read the title, the detail, where it happened or the clip.
Listening stays on the phone: The detector recognises a sound in memory, a moment at a time, then lets it go. It saves and sends no audio of its own.
Phones you link yourself: A phone joins by scanning a code on one that's already linked. The key is sealed phone to phone; we never have it.
Named by you: Each phone has a name you choose, like Rear window, so you know which one saw it.
Kept for a while: Events stay on your phones, and on Dashivo Cloud for 30 days (Cloud) or 60 (Cloud+), then they're deleted.
Saves your next drive: It pauses at 20% battery, so the phone can still record the next time you drive.
