01Who we are

Dashivo is made by Angry Owl Labs LLC. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean Angry Owl Labs LLC. It covers this website (dashivo.app), its contact form and the optional Dashivo Hub waitlist (people who signed up earlier for an email when the app is in the stores stay on that list until it's sent). The Dashivo app and your Dashivo account work differently: see The app and your account.

02What we collect

Only what you type into our two forms:

• Contact form: your name, your email address, the topic you chose (support, sales, press or other) and your message.
• Hub waitlist: your email address and your agreement to be emailed, and which list you joined: the Hub list or the Community edition. (Hub preorders and Black Box reservations are made in your Dashivo account, not through these forms.) (Earlier store-launch sign-ups also gave which phone they have: iPhone, Android or both.)

Each submission is saved with the date and time it arrived and a reference number. We don't store your IP address with it.

03How email is sent

We send and receive the forms' emails through our email provider, Resend. When you use the contact form, your message is emailed to our team at [email protected] and you get a short confirmation at the address you gave. When the Dashivo Hub is available, the Hub waitlist gets one email; earlier store-launch sign-ups get one email when Dashivo is live in the store they picked. Resend handles those emails for us, under its own privacy and security terms, and only to deliver them.

04What we don't collect

• No passwords or payment details on this website. Purchases happen inside the app, through the App Store or Google Play.
• No advertising or analytics trackers, and no tracking cookies. The site only remembers, in your browser and for the current visit, that you've already seen its opening animation.
• No footage. The website never receives your recordings.

05What your browser shares

Like any website, our server sees your IP address, the pages you ask for and your browser type. Our access logs leave out your address and any query string; error logs are kept only for troubleshooting. To stop abuse, the form service counts submissions per IP address in memory for up to an hour; that count is never written to disk.

The site runs behind Cloudflare, which estimates a visitor's city from their IP address. The home page's sample recording screen shows that city and its approximate coordinates (city level, never your street) and the time from your own device, just to show how the app looks where you are. The estimate is used for that page view only; we don't store it.

The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google, which sees your IP address. Google's own privacy policy covers that connection.

06How we use it

• To reply to your message, and to send you the confirmation that we received it.
• To email you once when Dashivo is in the App Store or Google Play, if you joined that list.

We don't sell your information, share it for advertising, or add you to anyone else's mailing list.

07Where it's stored

Form submissions are stored on a private server run by Angry Owl Labs LLC. They aren't sent to a CRM or a mailing-list company; the emails pass through Resend, as described above. Only people at Angry Owl Labs LLC who need them can read them.

08How long we keep it

• Contact messages: up to 12 months after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer to deal with a legal claim.
• Hub waitlist and store-launch list: until we've sent the one email you signed up for, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.
• Server logs: only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

09Your choices and rights

• Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Ask us to correct it or delete it.
• Leave the Hub waitlist (or the earlier store-launch list) at any time.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR may give you further rights. We'll respect them, and we won't treat you differently for using them. To make a request, email [email protected] or use the contact form; we may ask you to confirm the email address is yours.

10Children

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us details, tell us and we'll delete them.

11The app and your account

This notice is about the website. The Dashivo app keeps your footage on your phone: without a Cloud plan it sends us nothing but update checks. The speed-limit sign looks up nearby roads from OpenStreetMap's public servers using an approximate location, and street names come from your phone's own map service. Your Dashivo account at dashivo.app/account/ and the app are covered by the app's Privacy Policy.

12Changes

When this notice changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page.

01About these terms

These terms cover your use of this website (dashivo.app), its contact form and its Hub waitlist. Dashivo is made by Angry Owl Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The Dashivo app, in-app purchases and your Dashivo account have their own Terms of Use.

02The app and purchases

The site describes each feature as in the app today or coming soon. Features and plans can change, and anything marked coming soon may change before it ships or may not ship. The app is downloaded from, and Pro and Cloud are bought through, the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. Nothing on this site is itself an offer to sell you anything, except a Dashivo Hub Custom preorder, which is covered by the preorder terms on the Hub page (a draft too, pending legal review).

03The Hub waitlist

• Joining is free and doesn't commit you to anything.
• It doesn't guarantee a date, a price, or that the Hub will be offered for your car or phone. A Black Box reservation or a Community edition sign-up is free and isn't an order. Hub Custom preorders are covered by the preorder terms.
• You can leave at any time: email [email protected] or use the contact form.

04Using this site

Please don't send spam or automated submissions, submit someone else's personal information without their permission, try to break, overload or get around the site's security, or copy the site's design or content and present it as your own.

05Recording laws are yours to follow

Dash cam, audio and privacy laws differ by state and by country. Some places let you record a conversation you take part in; others require everyone's consent. There are also rules about what may be mounted on a windshield and how footage of other people may be used.

You're responsible for using Dashivo, and any footage it records, lawfully where you are, and for driving safely: mount your phone before you drive and don't handle it on the road. What this site says about recording laws is general information, not legal advice.

06Your footage

Your footage belongs to you. The website never receives it, and without a Cloud plan the app keeps it on your phone. How you keep, share or use your footage is up to you, within the law.

07Our content and names

The Dashivo name, logo, site design and text belong to Angry Owl Labs LLC or its licensors. Dashivo^™ is a trademark of Angry Owl Labs LLC or its licensors. Phone brands and store names mentioned on the site belong to their owners and are named only to describe compatibility and where to get the app; they don't endorse Dashivo.

Credits. Road, cabin and body cam footage: Pexels (pexels.com), used under the Pexels licence. The people in it appear in stock footage and aren't connected with Dashivo.

08Other sites

Where the site links to services run by others, such as the App Store or Google Play, their own terms and privacy policies apply there.

09No warranties

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it's provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

10Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Angry Owl Labs LLC and its licensors aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this website or its forms. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
